What the result means

Use the number as an estimate

Implied probability translates a price into the win rate required to break even before considering any model or market view. It is a property of the offered price, not proof of the outcome’s true probability.

FormulaPositive odds: 100 ÷ (odds + 100). Negative odds: |odds| ÷ (|odds| + 100).

+150 implies 40.00% and decimal odds of 2.50. A $100 winning stake returns $250 in total: the original $100 stake plus $150 profit.

Important limits

What the calculator cannot verify

  • The sportsbook margin can make raw implied probability higher than fair probability.
  • Fractional output is an approximation for display.
